This week's selection includes sounds from @noahdillonmusic / @eggquest / @hodgebristol / @lanarkmusic / @aphir_ / Es / @haircareband_ / @human_movement / @madprofessorariwa & Canita / @annaisaburch / @katenvy / @yvestumor / @kraejiyaeji / @bolt_fun
    • This week's RTRFM feature album is 'It Is What It Is' from @thundercatmusic.

The musical cosmic traveller who is Thundercat holds absolutely nothing back on his genre-defying, vibe-jumping new album, It Is What It Is. In his own words, the "album is about love, loss, life and the ups and downs that come with that" and musically, 'It Is What It Is' certainly reflects that, jumping from spaced out jazz fusion to bassy, bouncy funk, to chilled hip-hop and reverb soaked R&B. An exhilarating listen from start to finish, the record shows not only Thundercat's range as a musician, but let's us share the many peaks and troughs of his emotions, as channelled into the album. Indeed It Is What It Is is what it is ... and it is great.
    • This week's local feature album is TRAVELLIN' from @thegenuinechan.

Not content playing in local groups @demon_days_band and @supathicksupathick, Fremantle's Joshua Chan has AKA thegenuinechan released a playful beat tape of catchy instrumentals, TRAVELLIN'. Comprised of 9 tracks Chan describes as "soundtracks to specific experiences the producer has had while embarking on various travel adventures", TRAVELLIN' takes listeners on a journey through smooth low-fi hip-hop inspired beats, featuring dreamy synths and retro video game-esque motifs. With each track appropriately named after a different mode of transport, TRAVELLIN' is a perfect soundtrack to any form of travelling, from outdoor journeys to venturing into the minds eye.
    • Stay inside where possible over the next few weeks and spend some time relaxing. Head over to our website and check out a huge range of WA artists on our Slightly Odway series.
